I received a message on my answering machine today 03/30/15. Person with an accent stated that they were from the IRS and if I didn't return there call that there would be a warrant for my arrest. I called back to let them know that they're idiots the IRS never contacts you by phone and the individual hung up on me.
I received a call talking about I was going to be arrested for Social Security fraud and I needed to call immediately or an arrest warrant will be issued.
So did I. Sounds like a phone scam to get your social security number. the area code for this number seems to be in the East Coast but my taxes are filed in Fresno California.
I got the call today 3/27/15. I never answer a number I don't know, so let it go to the answering machine. It was a threatening call - the same as Scott's and Jack's. (The area code is Maryland.) Person on my answering machine had an accent. Of course I didn't call them back. Knew it was a scam. Plus, I would have called Social Security or IRS first.
I got the same call. The said a lawsuit would be filed and I would be arrested for tax fraud unless I returned the call. Do these people think we are all idiots. They must really be stupid. The police should investigate that phone number and have them arrested for fraud. Today is 3/31/2015.
