Someone called my parents and it came up as PEPCO on the caller ID, but it wasn't actually them. My dad didn't know any better and ended up having $1600 stolen from him by scammers. If "Pepco" calls, it's best to all them back at an official number to make sure.
Someone called us today at 4:37pm with this number. I had to ask him to identify himself, and he claimed to be from Pepco (that's what the caller ID said as well--said "PEPCO EWR) and wanted to talk to a certain family member, who wasn't home at the time. When I asked what the call was about, he said he wanted to know if the family member would be home tomorrow so Pepco could install an energy-saving device at the house. I told him to call back later in the evening, which he never did. When I googled the phone number, I didn't see it as being connected to Pepco. Tried Googling the number with the name Pepco and got zero results.
