beginning of message cut off, but it was saying something about being prosecuted before a grand jury and was last attempt to get a hold of me. Call back 301-861-3801 to talk to a federal .....

Message I got was cut off at beginning also., and similar threat. These are scam artists, probably trying to get our Social Security #, and/or maybe blackmail us.
Got the same message...Called back and someone with a foreign accent answered quickly stating something about having reached the IRS, but so fast that I'm not really sure what they said. Then asked for my name and phone number. When I asked if they were really the IRS I was asked "what kind of question is that?" When I persisted I was asked "Who are you? You're the one who [***] called ME, so who are you?" And then they hung up. Lmao. SCAAAAAAM!!
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
