The "name" on my caller ID showed: LXTNPKGRML MD. So, either a fake doctor, or a fake company from Maryland.
Either way, I didn't answer, and as expected, they didn't leave a message. If it IS a "fundraising" company as the OP says, they're likely no better than the Fraternal Order of Police who also give almost nothing of what they collect to the people they claim to be raising funds for. And if you do answer the phone and talk to someone, and you tell them you're not interested, they become extremely rude and make unnecessary comments like, "Well, you should want to support the people who give their lives to protect you." OK, I have no problem giving to the people who protect me, but these companies aren't it. If you want to give to a veteran fund, or to the police, call them directly (as in, contact your local police department, and/or contact your local veteran post) and ask them where to send donations. They'll give you a LEGITIMATE contact number for a LEGITIMATE organization who will give either the majority, or all of the funds to the people they collect for. But don't give to the organizations who try and call you!
Did answer this call but looked it up. Lookup said it was a cell phone. I then dial the number and automated message said the this number was nor in service.
