Received a call from this number on april 4. Claimed to be with medicare and wanted to varify address. Then read my address line by line and i indicated eash part was correct. Now i have read my 'yeses' could be used by a scammer to prove that i agreed to a purchase. Any suggestions?
First of all never confirm personal information to a unknown caller. You can always get information, verify it and THEN YOU call them back WHEN YOU ARE READY. Secondly, do not answer unknown calls and do not call them back. As far as the "yes" scam is concerned do not loose any sleep over it. I'd keep an eye on things...like I am sure you normally do....but for all the hoopla over this "Yes" scam I have yet to hear of any confirmed case of fraud taking place due to just a "yes". It pays to be cautious, but don't go overboard.
You know if you just do not answer unknown calls you won't have to worry about saying yes or no.
