caller ID stated Rehoboth Beach Delaware. Over the answering machine I could hear "hello my name is Michael ...". Blocked the number. I've had calls with that same message but different numbers. Also blocked those.
It’s probably another new spoofed number used by the POS’s scammers from Card Services or some foreigner claiming to be from Microsoft and your computer is infected. One of the other dirt bags that call, are people claiming to be IRS agents. All scammers, unfortunately unless congress changes an old law, phone companies will not stop them. I’ve received 16 calls a week on my land line at times. My phone can block up to 250 callers and that will fill up at some time. Sadly they are calling more cell phones now.
The best solution is to get a phone that block callers and call congress. I don’t remember the name of the legislation, but it was passed in the early 1900’s. Unless congress changes this one law, phone companies will do nothing to stop this harassment.
My ID read Rehoboth Beach Delaware. This a first time call. I am sure they will be calling back but all they will hear is ringing. I keep my phone turned off because I get 20 to 25 calls a day from foreigners, telemarketers, charities and others. I refuse to give up a phone number I have had for over 20 years. Our government will not do anything about this, nor will the telephone companies we pay. I do not need a phone other than an emergency. It is a sad thing that our country has succumbed to this kind of worldwide harassment.
