Same as above. recording by individual with Indian or Polynesian accent claiming that I was facing arrest by the IRS or some similar drivel if I didn't call back. This is the 7th time in past 3 weeks I've received similarly themed recordings. I'd yell at them but it's never a live person.
Total scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan. Block and ignore. DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

we got several calls today from this number and also other numbers from the same place, Delaware! One message sounded like the guy was from India, couldn't understand a word he said. We do not answer any calls, that come up unknown name, unknown number. The message said if we didn't call back, we would face criminal charges and face a jury!! For what???? These morons need to stop!!
received a call from 302-217-3719 saying he was from United States Treasury, saying it was 2nd attempt (which it was the 2nd call from this moron) and saying I could go before a magistrate judge or grand jury for federal crime. I received the message on my voice mail - and also my voice mail sent me an e-mail so I could read it (barely ) because of the heavy accent on the guy. I will ignore this moron - but would like to get him put behind bars if possible!
got a call from 302-217-3719; gave name of david grey. called back and robert james, fed i.d. #17123 answered. said warrant for my arrest, officers coming in 45 min, for tax evasion. knew my address. told me go to walmart and send money gram for thousands to irs. told me i needed to stay on phone while i did this, to prevent me getting any assistance or help. heavy indian accent.
