Got this call when I was in the shower. I looked at caller ID. Since
I did not reconized the number or name I did not call them back
Y E U Heartland was on the caller ID. Sounds like some one
who would waste my time. Specially at 8:30 PM on a Sunday evening.

If it is someone stating they are with a foreign exchange student program, it is a scam - period.
Legit FSEP do NOT cold call people.
Think about it, would you want your child, sent to any foriegn country to live in a home that the service simply cold called?
Legit FSEP work thru local schools, charities (such as the Lions Club), and church programs. These programs then contact their membership thru their normal channels to solicit applications and verify that the family has a room and the means to provide for the student while in their care.
One of these fake FSEP called last month and I had quite the fun time working them over, they wanted my SSN, a credit card (including those little extra numbers on the back), checking account number, DOB, and so forth... for vetting reasons ofcourse. Dude never caught on to the fact that I gave him information for Gomez from the "Adam's family" and a fake "movie" phone number and so forth. Absolutly a riot.
The second time they called, I started asking the caller for their billing information and a valid credit card number... the poor guy had no idea how to handle the off scrip interaction.
This is INTL. STUDENT EXCHANGE in Aledo, IL. Run under Deb Bowen of the Deb Bowen Exchange. Also mentioned on the www.iseheartland.com website.
They should not be ignoring Do Not Call - just screams like an affiliate of theirs who is trying to earn a commission is trying some shady tactics. I think we should let Deb Bowen know that this is taking place.
