Time to get a call-blocking app for my personal phone. These marketers/scammers bombard my work line all day, every day; they shouldn't be able to get through to me while I'm not working.
Missed a call from the number. Called back and all it said was "If you want to be removed from the call list press 1" There was no company identification, and no person. So I just pressed 1 and hope it works. wish me luck!
When you press 1 (or any number), you are telling the person on the other end of the line that yours is a valid phone number in-use by a real person. They compile lists of valid phone numbers and offer them to companies as a benefit that comes in their marketing package. They are marketers. Don't ever pick up the phone if you don't recognize the number -- a legitimate person will always leave you a voicemail.
I refused to answer the call and they did not leave a message. I just hung up and put the number on block for my cell and work numbers. Looks like they are pretty clearly sales or a scam neither of which I have any interest in speaking with.
