Called at 10:30am. Diverted by a service I subscribe to that intercepts robo-dialed calls (rhymes with SoNoHobo). Caller ID suggests it's a burial plan scam, since I'm assuming it means Final Expenses.
A live caller introduced herself as a "Ms. Simmons," and greeted using our family name and began with the script "Are you aware that Indiana has changed its .... " and babbled something about burial policies. I courteously let her know that I thought it was grossly inappropriate and even creepy to be making a cold call on the topic of burials. She ended the call saying that we'd be taken off the list without even mentioning the company she is representing. My concern is that maybe some local charity or church is circumventing the do-not-call registry by selling information to third parties, expecting that they can exploit the valid charity loop hole in the do-not-call legislation.
