Actually you're not being placed on any do not call list by confirming with them or anyone else ever. For one, most of us are already on the do not call list. But more importantly, the FCC's regulations regarding unsolicited marketing calls state that they aren't allowed to call cell phones just because it can be an expense to the customer (using their minutes, possibly overage usage, maybe roaming, international roaming, ect). So just block the call and file an FCC do not call complaint. Never verify or return calls or you're just validating what time you might be reachable and that the number is used.
The reason America is falling behind in areas like real estate is because people can't call folks to sale them a home.
Does any of you complainers ever think about where your job comes from....sales thats right sales. What a country
of whiners but what's worse that those is a goverment that enables it. Overturn DO NOT CALL [***] and get back
to being a free enterprise.
I am in Real Estate and I don't get on the phone and Telemarket or Robo call people. I advertise through appropriate means, in print, local Real Estate publications, yellow pages, and respond to inquiries. I also have a running list of investors as well as those who have asked me to keep them in mind on certain investments. I don't "Sale" houses. The customer always "Buys" houses. People wouldn't mind occasional calls requesting surveys and such but when it becomes a continuing and never ending harassment, they can't be blamed for becoming angry. And before the scammers, hucksters and thieves took over our telephones and took away our trust, we even contributed to worthy causes. Most people don't really know why the DNC was created or what its existing purpose is. It does serve a need and does it very well. Unfortunately, it is those scammers, frauds, thieves, and general scofflaws who are creating our problems and discontent over the telephones. Get rid of them and I'm sure that people will return to welcoming friendly calls from our local Red Cross or the Girl Scout cookie girls. We had free enterprise
Any person with intelligence would not buy a home through a robocaller or telemarketer. The would work with a local realtor who works for a reputable company.
