We have been receiving calls fromk this number for the past few weeks. Some times when we answer there is no one there. Caller ID describes the caller as "Law offices of ..."
This is most likely a scheme of some sort and iot should be terminated immediately.
Called today, some sort of auto dialer calling for my name I held for about 5 min, woman finally comes on I verified who I was she asked for my address I refused, I said if you're calling me, you should know. Asked what she wanted she said she couldn't say until I verified 2 pieces of information, I told her that ain't gonna happen, she said have a good day & hung up. Crappy bill collector I guess. Gonna have to give me info if they want to talk to me, I give nothing over the phone to people in general, especially somebody I don't know. FYI, FDCPA states that bill collectors are legally bound to notify you in writing about a debt, who they represent, & and indicate a respond by date. If you don't respond, then they call. These goofballs probably buy debt for pennies on the dollar & cream the files for anyone who'll roll over. Most of them are calling outside the expiration of statute of limitations for the debt (DE is 3 years across the board), that's why no letters & no regard for FDCPA rules. Don't know how they stay in business off garbage debt like this...
It is the schlee and stillman law offices. I called 888-286-5001 which is from thier website, and got a human. I told him they keep calling my home phone and the person they are looking for doesn't live here. He asked for the number and i told him, he instantly knew the name of the same person that the automated msg keeps asking for. He put my number on the Do not call list. So hopfully this is done with.
THIS. I had the same experience with these shysters calling 3x a day, every day, because I got a new phone number that apparently used to belong to a deadbeat. The woman I talked to said my number would be removed from their system within 48 hours. Call 888-286-5001 to stop this incessant harassment.
It may not be the nuimber itself. Bill collectors call everyone in the US who has the same name or close to it. They don't verify middle names or anything.
