Yes I was just called by this number...they already had my address and supposedly my card number...just needed me to verify it and also give my pin and exp date.they said it was for a 2.95 processing fee for a gift card...the mans name was Micheal with a thick overseas accent.. He put me on the line with his supervisor who began to rexplain why he wa calling...I said I'm not giving you my number and he hung up on me
Received a call, the guy identify as MICHAEL and say is about renew some thing at my credit card and asked to press 3. I hang up and call back and come answered machine from some financial institution. This happened about 1 minut a go as today is April, 22/2011.
I received a call today 4/25/11. left message if you are over 10k in debt then a rep will assist you. am going to do not call website and see if they can do anything abt this. i have to listen and clear msgs and this one is annoying. has called and left msgs. too often. will never answer the call. just annoying that they keep calling.Have job interviews and need phone free from telemarketers.
Just so you all know.....There's some sort of nasty scam running out of the Dominican Republic. The following is from Wikipidia: The # that called me was 809-947-2449
Telephone fraud scams once revolved around the 809 area code; it was being used since calling international numbers are charged at a higher rate than domestic calls.[2] There may have been a resurgence with wireless telephones.[3] The victim receives a message on their answering machine to call a number with an 809 area code. Since there were many new area codes being introduced in the US, the victim thinks nothing of it and dials the 809 number. The number dialed is however an international number with a share of the revenue going to the operator of the number. The victim is then put on hold indefinitely, and billed for each minute they are on hold. This is actually perfectly legal, because the number is charged at normal international rates, and is not premium rate.[4]
