Same thing got call at 805am today Id caller shows 302-416-3014. Young Indian dialect voice guy very rude starting cursing when I told him he's a scam after going along with the Microsoft instructions he told me my computer had a virus
I will report to fcc too
Absolutely a scam to try to hijack your computer... "Jack" called me... just now. Asked me what key is next to the Ctrl key on my keyboard. (He wants to know if its a flag for windows or an apple for apple). Then he told me to hit Win+R which opens the run dialog box. Then he asked me to type eventvwr and press okay. Then he wanted me to look at the event log, so that I could see that I had big scary "warnings" and "errors." I took my time through all this... went as slowly as possible. Told him my computer was slow... read him error messages I just made up. Managed to keep him on the phone for about 10 minutes.... which is 10 minutes less that he won't have to try to scam the next person. I could hear him getting frustrated towards them end when I gave him an error message about "You don't have permission to access this, please contact the IT Support Desk." And then he asked me again if was my home computer, and I said No, it's my work computer and made up some government sounding office... He asked if I could go to my home computer... I probably should have started over and let him walk me through it again. Jack eventually hung on me. When I called the number back, I get a verizon message about call can't be completed as dialed, so they've spoofed the outbound caller ID. Be warned... 302-416-3014 is a scammer.
