This person responded by text to a craigs list ad and appears to be a scammer. Person said they were on a honeymoon on 1/14/15 and wanted me to hold my item and that they would pay $70 extra if I wiould do so. I asked how long before they return and they said in March and if I would give them all my information they would send me the money. After cashing the check they would come and pick up the item.
Standard fake cashiers check wire the difference back to my shipper scam based on an ad on CL. Wanted moneygram or western union sent to Sellars Lea, Hickory, KY 42035. I went along as I always do, received a fake check for $1480 for a $750 item, I'm still texting them, acting dumb, like I don't even know what western union is. I try to waste as much of these scammers time as possible and suggest others do the same.
If they actually mail you a check, remember to bring it and the envelope in which it came to your post office.
The postal authorities will pursue the problem. Using the mails to defraud is a crime.
Same thing just happed to me. The honeymoon and that he wouldn't be in town until march And would pay $70 extra for me to hold a $750 item he found on craigslist. I was excited to tell my bf about it and he said it was a scam and now I believe him. Guy said he would get his secretary to issue me a check and he would arrange for someone to pick up the item and to give him full name and address.
