You can give the check in the envelope it to your local post office postmaster, as this is mail fraud and a felony.
Or you can give it to your bank and let them give it to law enforcement for investigations. A stolen check is more interesting for them to investigate than counterfeit checks, or checks written for non-existent banks.
Awesome, thank you. I just reported this guy to the FTC and the Postal Service. I'll probably take it to my bank sometime this week so they can send it along to the right people.
Hello and I am so thankful I found this! I applied for a position on Craigslist as a Admin. Asst. I received an email from a guy named Christopher Ceaser telling me I would have a task in a few days...So a few days passed and he tells me a check would be arriving and once it arrives to let him know and he would tell me what to do next. Also tells me that he will pay me $300 for doing said task. I am supposedly waiting on said package to arrive now....So what should I do now?? I have been trying to get this guy to give me more details because well I am not stupid I know when something sounds "off". Also, as others have stated it started out with email and now the cell number. I do not want to get in trouble for this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
