Caller is persistent and annoying. Keeps calling back when asked to stop. A friend answered today and the caller knew my name and phone # and started quizzing her re: my whereabouts. Gave the name "Alonzo Harris" (Like I'm a stupid white chick and don't know Denzel Washington movies?) and left this message re: "case #355412" at 302-798 7200 x2103." If this were legit I'd get a certified letter.
It's the same # as the guy that woke me at 5:45 AM from Byron (?) & ______ and ARGUED with me about the time! He calls continuously and lets the phone ring 10-12 times. I haven't bothered to listen to his spiel because we have a policy of not accepting cold calls. I wonder what kind of scam list I'm on that would make contacting me so worthwhile. I'm also annoyed that he has my name and #, because it is unlisted.
Maybe I'll listen the next time he calls - it's probably some kind of fraud that needs to be reported.
sounds to me like someone has given out your phone #- if the guy knew your name that probably means you are the person they are looking for.. no one looks up a phone number and starts calling at 5:45 a.m.(which I doubt) Just to make phone calls You really expect the internet world to believe that some working stiff went into his office at 5:45 a.m. just to call you for no reason. Give me a break..
This is Byron and Davis, a bill collecting company. I got a legal notice from them more than two months ago stating that I had an unpaid medical bill. Since I pay all of my bills in full on a timely manner, this surprised me. I sent a letter to this company by fax and by regular mail stating that I needed proof of the debt: date debt incurred, and copy of the bill. That was 6 weeks ago. They admit that they have received my letter, and have provided no proof of the debt. However, they continue to call my work number and ask for payment. I've checked my credit report. No signs of a collection account on it. I'm not really sure what to do.
