Agreed!!! They call me looking for my friend. They claim that I am listed as a reference...that I'm responsible for her paying them....that I will suffer legal "jail time" if I don't cooperate. They want names, numbers and other nonsense. The number used to show up as 0000. Today it came up as 303.500.0417. He claimed this time that I'm listed as her mother. He says his name is Officer Mike. I call the number back and he just says hello. This is a total scam!!! I'm just at a loss as to how to get them caught and/or getting them to leave me alone!!

Tell your employer you are a target of this scammer and it's not your fault. Bring their attention to this 800notes page. Scammers use bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.

Received a voice mail yesterday afternoon and then again this morning from Officer Montoya, from the fraud department. I have received so many of these types of calls over the last couple of years that I never answer the phone if I do not recognize the number. They have changed the script slightly, he did not ask for my retained attorney of record. But he did say that if I did not call him back, that they would come to my work and my home and I would be "behind the bar".
I am gettting calls from this idiot stating he is a officer and all this and that.. these calls are ridiculious and annoying... I have repeadily ask this moron for a fax # or a company name and nothing... they have no idea what they are doing.. I am very familiar with the FDCPA and FTC and the state statues as I do litigation for a living... so these sob's with all their non sense really need to stop.. I will file suit on them so fast howeva they neva give the proper info.. I am filing again with the AG's office and now I am going to contact the local police dept...
