FRAUDULENT COMPANY

Call came in on my cell phone and I couldn't take it. The caller left no message, so I attempted to return the call. I received a message saying the number was disconnected or no longer in service. Over a three week period, this number called every three days. Finally, I was able to take the call and learned it's a calling bank based in Boulder, Colorado. They are mass calling people to offer quotes on business insurance. They claim they got my number from a national source. The agent referred me to www.bouldercalls.com for more information. The website is a portal for cellular phone service.

Called 3x's in one week, left no message, and when I called back said it was not in service.

These people have called probably a dozen times in the last month and won't leave a message. I finally answered and was told that the company is called 'Country Insurance' and wanted to sell me business insurance. When I declined their offer and asked how to stop further calls, the lady wouldn't give me any information about where she or the company was or how to contact them and whilst I was still talking she hung up on me.

Even if you opt-out, or are on a do-no-call list, they can call you for 30 days !

1/24/2007 Update:

I spoke with Rick Fort on the phone this afternoon.  I asked him why there was nobody on the other end of the line when the robots called - and he said that if an operator is not there, it’s called an abandoned call.  When I asked why they would call 10 times a day for a month, what the purpose of that was, he could not answer.  I asked if he was overbilling his clients by repeat calls to which he said no.  When I asked how he charges his clients, he said that was confidential information.  
In my opinon there clearly is something that is not right here.  Either they are overbilling/overcharging their clients or something else is going on.
Rick said that his clients provided the call lists for ESM and they go from those lists.  The problem is that I never signed up with FMU (Florida University) - so I never opted in.
When I suggested that he was hiding behind the telemarketing law, he just laughed and said he was operating according to the law.  
The bottom line is that these idiots have deep pockets and have a high power law firm that specializes in telemarketing law.  
Is there no way to stop this harassment ?
I suggest you give Rick or Teresa a call and let them know your opinion - especially if your the victim of their robot dialers.
