I received a call from this number too on Sunday May 28th. Woman's voice was very warm and professional. I never heard of the fundraising organization and asked why they would you call on Sunday. Her response was 'click'.
Scam and fraud artists are getting slicker by the day. A few days earlier I had received a call from 720-239-1498 another fundraising operation for state troopers. Caller sounded very official and before he started his scam pitch I hung up.
This was technically probably not an actual robocall (the actual criminal 'spoofed/fake' scam calls), but it was likely an rather unethical if not fraudulent fundraising call. This was a live woman caller and asked for a specific woman (not sure if that was real or not) and when I said she had the wrong number she launched into a fundraising plea for a breast cancer foundation. These types of calls are usually 'mills' that are, at best, marginally legal and wind up giving VERY little of the donations to actual breast cancer-related causes. Similar groups will try to raise funds for veterans, police, firefighters, etc. These groups prey on laudable 'white hat' causes that we all agree are important. However, unlike legitimate charities (American Cancer Society, American Heart Society, American Diabetes Association, etc), these are rather unsavory groups that prey on our heartstrings. In general, DON"T offer these types of callers money over the phone (especially if they turn out to be blatant scammers). Instead, invite them to mail you information or provide access for you to look at them online (and check them out). In general, stay away from these types of callers!!
As a follow-up to my last message: I should also not that the woman who called me never even identified what specific breast cancer fundraising group she was with. I was curious and called the number back and got a recorded message about a donation center (or something similar) and again there was not even a mention of who they were. No legitimate charity would operate that way. The most important reason I'm posting this second message is that I looked this up and there are even fake/fraudulent websites for charities. In this case, there is even a 'www.breastcancersociety.com' website that is really a scam operation. So, even looking this up online is not always a solution. Do your homework on ANY group asking you for money!!

Received a call; didn't answer. Thanks to info from Hate Robocalls, I'm blocking this #. As a rule, I always block any unknown caller who doesn't leave a message.
