This is a collection agency trying to find out if you are still there, that way they can tell their clients that they have a working number, and are still pursuing collection efforts. Watch out for strangers calling stating that they are calling you from a "referral" they received. They will not be able to tell you who referred them to you, but will casually ask about what kind of work you do, if you have other sources of income, if you moonlight, or work under the table. This guy comes off as really needed someone in your "area" who can do the work, with promises of big bucks!! They did this to my dad, who is retired and disabled. He has not worked in over 10 years due to severe medical problems, and is disabled. Since he only receives social security disablity, they can't garnish his wages. So they are being sneaky. However, my dad, being the chatterbox he is, told this guy how bad off he is, and would love to go back to work, however he told them he was unable to work. Guy hasnt called back since. My Dad calls me thinking maybe I was trying to help him out and referred him. My Dad is old school and has a big ego. He would love to go back to work, as he was a general contractor in his hay day. But now, just driving 2 hours to visit on holidays leaves him in so much pain. Anyway...thats who it is. This is actually a legitimate business, they help contractors like me find work. I registered online and the marketing consultant who called me back has helped me find several jobs. NOT a collection agency or debt collector.
