My cell phone is also listed as my business phone. Received a call from a local number. I had to say hello twice, then a guy ("Max", i think he said his name was) came on with a thick Indian accent who couldn't pronounce my name or the business name right. I had been approved for working capital. He rattled on so fast I couldn't follow it, and I hung up. Just some poor guy trying to make a few rupees.Googling showed no hit for this number on 800Notes, my usual reference, so I'm reporting it. WV has call centers, but they are staffed by poor native mountaineers shilling for the NRA. The only people around here with Indian accents are doctors. Since I was already a known live hit, I called the number back and got some obviously local office answering machine, and hung up. About 10 minutes later, another 304-625 number (even my number is 304-625) called, and it was someone from the spoofed number. Who works at the FBI Fingerprint Center in Clarksburg, WV.
It would be nice if the government could do something about relatively small problems like scamming telemarketers, since they can't get much done about big problems like terrorism.
That number will be entered in my phone address book with a no-ring ringtone as Junk 421. I've gotten that many in four years.
