Got the call a couple of times. The 2nd time, I picked up. There was a long pause, then a recorded voice said; "Good bye".
I *69ed the call and got a recording that said; "your call cannot be completed as dialed."
I'm really p.o'ed. I get on the "Do Not Call" List and it seems to be a farce. I get as many calls as before.
I have received several calls from this number. Finally answered and talked to a foreigner, couldn't hardly understand the idiot. Finally got what he was calling for and told him the owner of our computer was unavailable so he hung up on me. The number has tried calling 3 times again today. GO back to your own country!!!!!
I got the same caller id information. They were trying a ruse in which they have the user run a command that lists a bunch of id's that they claim are associated with the license on the computer. The ID's are the same for every Windows computer in the world, though, and don't indicate anything unique.
The normal Maintenance Department of Windows saying my computer was reporting viruses and I needed to let him show them and fix them. Strung him out for a while then informed him I have been working with computers for over 42 years with many of those being in computer security for the government. I called him out as a lying scammer to which he let out a stream of curses. I cut him off at that point.
