This number called muttering something about a credit card.
When I pushed option 1 to speak to someone a guy answered saying "It says here you want to save money on your Mastercard and Visa bills, is that correct?" I responded "No" and was about to rip into him for calling and waking my infant daughter up from her nap, but the coward hung up the phone.
I called back and a recording says "The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time".
If anyone finds out more information on this company let me know. I will gladly drive down and have a chat with them.
THIS IS A SCAM. This is the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, gift card, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, secure handling, service, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number, or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. Report to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.
I received a call from this number at 11:00 on a Saturday. They didn't leave a message. The area code is a Miami-area number. I don't know anybody in that area.
