Chris C--- teaches introductory computing to seniors at 8:15 AM on Friday mornings at a local school. Here is what he has to say about spam/scam e-mails: "If you think it is bad now, it is going to get worse." He then gave us a talk about what to watch for, and how to avoid opening such e-mails. "They may be loaded with viruses. The virus effect more often than not is that your computer will begin to run very, very slow-w-w-ly."
Seniors enjoy contacting their families by way of the internet, and they are most at risk for attack. Spam/scam ghouls will even fake e-mails from families and friends. Warn the seniors in your families and groups to be very, very careful.
