A man called Puerto Rico, asking for my brother's phone number. He said is a good friend of my brother and would like to get in touch with him, but lost his number. When my daughter asked for his name, the man hung up.
A man called me telling he had some people working on my partents house and that an incident between his employees and my parents happened. I told him I was going to find were he was at and that my wife works for the media and that I was going to report this to the police. My wife then spoke with my mom and she told her that a man called Javier was asking for me and that he worked with me and he could find me and he wanted to go to my parents home to leave an invitation from me. Since I noticed that this guy sounded like a "ghetto" or adict guy and I looked at the area code I started to suspect. I neve let him finish the story because I knew he wanted to ask me for money and tell me that the life of my parents was in risk. He insulted me when I told him all this stuff and my wife called him and also insulted her.
This "Javier colon" called my mother and told her he was a friend of her son from school and needed to cantact me. He then called me and started the story about how my mother called the police on one of their "guys" and that she was causing problems for them and we needed to settle the matter.
Man called my mom too asking for his son. Mom didnt give out to much info but picked up his number for me to call. He then said my parents started some trouble in their neighborhood and that he was the boss narc "bichote" of all the city and..... i did not let him finish, ...i said he had bad reception and when he tried moving i hanged up.
This calls are very typical and people under nervousness tend to give information which they end up using to escalate the scam. Most likely he was to ask for money to forgive the incident of my parents or probably that he would killed them if i dont show up with some money at a place of their preference.
Hang up, they tend to not persist since they want easy targets.
