I keep getting calls from this number saying they want to lower my interest rates on my credit card. The calls started before I ever had a credit card. I would like the calls to stop.
They call here all the time. Once in awhile I will pick up the phone and let them give their little talk and then say Wow you can lower my interest rates -- tell me how you do this when I dont have any credit cards. They really must think all people are stupid and will fall for this crap. If you want your credit card rates lowered you call the company that has your card and see if you cant get them to. I believe the quote was attributed to P. T. Barnum not the circus, but I can see how it could be confusing, as you were speaking with some of the biggest clowns, the card service scammers! Unfortunately there are people, mainly the low income and the elderly, who do fall for this scam. They are the main targets, as many, due to financial considerations, do not have caller id to screen their calls, or the internet to learn of, and stay aware of the current scams. In order to stop the calls, that annoy all of us, we need to spread the word to others, especially these individuals, before they become victims. When the scammers sources of income dry up , the calls will slow down and cease.
