I received this call today. A woman left a message on my answering machine. She played "Moon Dance" by Van Morrison and then asked for me by name. I do not know anyone in the Miami/south Florida area.
Wow, they must have just started. 3 reports in the last three hours. On another site all the info I got was a telemarketer. Number comes back as 'disconnected' when I tried to call back. If you're around to answer the call when it comes in, what I like to do is talk to them. For as long as I can. I listen to their spiel, answer a few questions facetiously, and wait to get to the part where they ask for a credit card number. My answer is always, "3". "Yes, my credit card number is 3. I'm a pretty old geezer and got one of the first ones!". It usually pisses them off really really well since they usually make pennies per call, and commission on whatever scam they're selling. By taking their time for as long as I can, I prevent them from making other spurious calls which cut down their payrate, and of course wasting all that time on a non-sale is a killer. Most of them have computer databases which they put notes in, and there's nothing like this to make sure they do not call back, LMAO.
