This is a total scam, I work in law enforcement and they called and I answered with my PD credentials and then all of sudden they supposedly connected me to their police which they are saying is the FBI. I politely told them to not call back and the guy starting getting hostile and then hung up. Number is now blocked.
My husband received a call from this phone number. They identified themselves as the IRS, said he owed $4889 in back taxes from the last two years. I called the number back, they identified themselves as the IRS again, I said I was returning a call and the man asked for my number; I gave it to him and he asked if I was my {my son's name...NOT my husband's name}. I stopped, and asked him why he wanted to speak with my son. He asked me, "This is your son?". I replied yes, and repeated the question. He asked, "Then he is a minor?" and I replied yes. I told him I was calling about a call to my husband. He asked, "What is the phone number?" I repeated the same number previously given; he asked for my husband's name, I gave it to him and he asked me to hold. When he came back, he said the case worker wasn't available, could I call back in 30 minutes. I replied, "NO, but she is welcome to call me back; but wait...what is the case number for my husband's case?" He asked, "The case number?" I said yes, "...you implied a case number earlier when asking for my son...what is the number for my husband?" He said he didn't have that information because he isn't the worker. I replied, "NO, if you are the IRS, then you have the information needed; let me speak to your supervisor." He replied that he was the supervisor and I said that I wanted to speak with the supervisor over him. He said it would take 1 to 2 years to get a response from them. I told him, "NO...YOU WILL CONNECT ME WITH A SUPERVISOR RIGHT NOW, OR I AM CALLING THE POLICE AND REPORTING THIS NUMBER AS A SCAM!" I was disconnected.
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge? They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.

Don't bother calling the police. They're somewhere overseas like India or else where. They've been doing this for a few years now.
It's always a scam when they call you. The IRS does not call. Sad that some people end up paying these thieves lots of money.
I always play with them and use up their time and give them phony info and phony credit card numbers. When they catch on they start freaking out and cussing. LOL!!! Something the IRS wouldn't do. Or the best thing to do is if you get a call stating that they're from the IRS just block them. They use many different numbers.
This phone number kept calling me did it say it was from marathon Florida was it a recording but when I called back it just beeped and I'm only 14 and I thought I was in trouble it also called my 10 year old cousin which is way to young to have a phone in my opinion but anyways ya and scared her so bad she won't talk to anyone over the phone
I received a call from this number 1 hour and 45 minutes ago. The third call in two days. I knew it was not the IRS but I wanted to tell the scum bag to stick up his a__, so I called back. When I told him to do so, he hung up. It won't do any good but I feel better. LOL.
