Same here. I don't understand why they need to identify who I am. It doesn't matter. I'm just one of their customers! Isn't it enough to buy some stuff onlie?
After speaking extensively w/these folks due to a recent order I was given this fax number. It is legitimate. They are simply trying to protect you (and themselves obviously) and verify due to identity theft in my opinion. I recently relocated to another office and obviously checks they made didn't match up. I simply had to send and provide additional information so they could verify I was in fact who I said I was and where I said i was....I will admit that talking with their typical CSR was a bit of an issue (due to his limitations of authority) but once I spoke w/a supervisor, she assisted me to my satisfaction.
