Do not respond to unwanted texts or emails from questionable sources. Several mobile service providers (including AT&T) will allow you to report unwanted spam texts by simply forwarding them to 7726 (or “spam”) to enable the providers to prevent future unwanted texts from the specific sender.
TIP:
Put 7726 in your contact list, so you can easily forward those unwanted texts!

However, in many cases, the text origin, as seen on your phone, is faked. The internet domain does not exist, or the phone number may have been spoofed.

Got it from a text message 99000 stating i might be eligible for food stamps or rental assistance. LOL Came from 99000, but when I texted STOP it gave this number.
Evelio Aleman, Miami, FL, +1 305-418-0900 [email protected].
Text shows up as 99000, when prompting STOP, it says a charge may be incurred for this text. After many harressing text, I did it anyway, and then the number 305 418 0900 shows up. Some Maggot.

My text came from 91993. Same phone number. There's a website I don't dare type in. http://bit.ly/2hyRTp6. Is the configuration meaningful? If anyone knows.
Earlier this week I got a voicemail from the 'IRS' saying they were going to sue me and I should call this number. 206-451-5838. Of course I didn't call. Also fake emails from so called government agencies like usps.
This seems to be going around to retirees like myself, a lot. I don't believe anything, never did, so I don't respond.
