This company called my wife back in 2009. The caller said they had gotten our number from a time share that we owned, and therefore they knew we were interested in travel. The pitch was if we would attend a Orlando Resort Tour & sales presentation, they would gives us a 3 night Royal Caribbean Cruise, in the Bahamas. The pitch sounded like a good deal to my wife. This pitch included one free R.T. air with a purchase of a second, air ticket and car rental for 7 days. Down payment was $200 which we paid by Visa. , This package was to be used in the next 3 years. This time I got involved and printed out the emails that came from "VacPakPromotions.com" for "Vacation Getaways" official Certificate and other"official" paper work that included all of these "processing" fees. By the end of 2012 we received a call from Special "T" Travel Services" informing us that time was running out and we needed to complete the arrangements and wanted $600 to complete the arrangements for the trip and rentals. My wife said enough to this madness and to keep the $200 and forget and cancel the trip and the company said it would cost us $400 to cancel!! We were threatened with collection agency action because my wife had "agreed" to the initial arrangements. We were told that we could extend the time period to May 2014 if we would pay the $600 to complete the arrangements, which my wife paid by visa. Now when I found out, I was mad! Upon search I found this 800notes.com site and learned that this company was a scam. The phone numbers used during this ordeal were "Travel Division" 954-937-4062, "Sales Office" 305-414-4921, "Customer Service" 888-666-0417. We are out $800 and sad but wiser. I used "IPTrackeronline" to search the email source, and found the following: The orig. IP was 184.173.245.24-static.reverse.softlayer.com. The relay was thru "small Orange Llc" 69.56.148.24. The Google map that came up for this scammer was the corner of Bell St, & Fannin St in Houston Tx. If it sounds too good to be true - it is!
This number has shown up on my caller ID several times. Called back and states mail box full. They have called back several times, usually just let it ring, but decided to answer after three rings, no response. Wish there was a way to have this number disconnected, because I consider it harassment.
A man at this number called my home to tell me about a timeshare appartment I supposedly wanted to buy or had bought in Florida. He wanted to know the reason why I did not travel there after all. He had my name, address and phone number. I have never wished to make such a purchase. He refused to tell me where he got my name and address, where he was calling from. He refused to identify himself, refused to give me his family name. This number will be reported to the authorities.
