My call was from 917-310-3665 from a "David Corez" with the Drug Enforcement Agency, claiming he was doing an investigation for a package confiscated from customs with my name and address on it--although he could not tell me my address. I'll admit I bought diet pills off the internet FIVE YEARS AGO and these people have harrassed me ever since to buy more for hundreds of dollars. Just crazy, so I never bought again. So, when "David" accused me of having purchased a package of diet pills he confiscated, I knew he had to be lying, but it was so scary just the same! I have never been in trouble with law enforcement for anything! I was so glad to find this thread, even though I knew the guy had to be lying. When I told him, no, he was lying, I hadn't bought anything, he interupted me yelling at me "Yes you did! And if that is your answer I will be calling your local authorities for a warrant for your arrest!" and then hung up on me. I have taken criminal justice classes for three semesters at school now, and I know that is not how things work, but it was scary all the same!
Thank you so much for the information. Just wanted to add this name and number to the list of phony DEA calls so someone else can feel better if they get a call from this jerk! He keeps calling and calling and leaving messages, but I will never pick up again, unless it is to say I turned him in to the FDA and DEA for impersonating an officer!
A call was received from 305-434-7227 from a "Frank Lawrence" claiming to be an "Agent" for U.S. Customs. He said that a package of prohibited pharmaceuticals was being detained in Miami at the "Miami International Delivery" area of "U.S. Customs." He said that Customs was "investigating" it, and that in order to get out of trouble, one would have to pay a fine of 30% of $10,000, which he then "reduced" to $1,800, and said that it would have to be sent to the embassy in Costa Rica via an attorney in order to not get arrested for ordering the prohibited pharmaceuticals. Please be advised and aware that no-one named "Frank Lawrence" works for "Customs" in Miami, nor would a "Customs Agent" ever contact anyone at their home to tell them they are in "trouble" and to pay a fine to avoid getting arrested. Additionally, Customs would never ask you to send money to Costa Rica!!! Beware of this commonly occurring scam. And DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THEM, AND DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY AT ALL!!
305-434-7227 and 866-758-4439 Did you happen to place an order with "David" or "Brandy"? I did and this "Frank Roderiguez called me to with the same song and dance. I'm glad I read your thread! I called him out right after he started his [***] talking about the US customs and my local authorities. This whole thing is a two sided poorly executed scam. Be careful ordering prescriptions on the phone or online I don't care if they have your script details or address or not. Its a scam!
Yes, this exact same thing happened to me today! I just posted another comment about it. I caught on to the scam pretty early - thank God - and didn't give them any of the "fine" money but I am pretty freaked out about it all still. Do you think I should be concerned for the safety of my family if they have my address?
Thank God I found this site! I have been scammed by these same people-David Castillo, Miguel Ruiz, Jennifer, and Brandy. Sadly, I did send money at first but finally had the courage today to tell Jennifer that I would not send them another penny and that I would call the DEA myself. I hope the calls stop but if they don't I will have this info to threaten them. PLEASE, anyone who gets a call from them, don't fall for this blackmail!
