These calls started coming after I signed up for health insurance quotes. After signing up for the quotes, I am now called 14-18 times a day by a half-dozen companies. When I asked to be taken off their calling list, they said, "you agreed to these calls when you signed up for the quotes, and there is nothing you can do about it now."

It's a good thing I used my Google Voice number instead of my home phone number. Using Google Voice as a "throwaway" phone number has its advantages.
