Received a call from this number on 7/26/16...person calling left a VM, stating they were form the US Treasury Dept., however, he had a very heavy Eastern Indian accent to the point, I could barely understand the message. Automatically, I was suspicious. I usually don't call those numbers back, but I decided to. It is a number based out of Florida. I called 4 times and each time (3 males, 1 female) the person was of Indian descent, or at the least, had an Indian accent. Each one identified themselves as "Officer so & so" of the US Treasury Dept. They gave some spiel about issues with my 2012 tax. I asked them if they were calling from Washington, DC., knowing the call was out of Florida. They all said yes! at that point, I let them know I wasn't fooled and they got indignant or hung up.
Same deal as other people posted...Claims to be from US Treasury and has info from IRS regarding my 2012 taxes. Said a warrant would be issued as soon as I hung up. Heavy middle-east accent. Heard others in background with same accent. Odd part was, I suspected a scam and asked if they wanted money. They said 'no' and kept talking about a warrant. They ended up hanging up on me. Not sure what their endgame is here, but I will proceed with extreme caution!
