ID themselves as National Filing and Claims, but their voices have a choppy quality. Would not give me any other information and became combative. Other sites have also reported the name "National Filing". Looks like some sort of domestic scamming operation to me. The term "filing" is often used by debt scammers to describe their business. The term "filing" or "filing service" is meaningless, except as double-talk that helps them avoid using the term "debt collector". Like the terms "mediator" or "arbitrator".

They called and left a message saying I was named as a defendant in an insurance fraud case about to be filed. I have never, ever filed a single insurance claim on anything so I`m pretty sure this is some kind of scam.
I got a message from my sisters telling me I was gonna be served papers at my work of employment between 2-4pm and bring 2 forms of ID... and since I am a field employee I have 48 hours to contact tge plaintiff #3057482153 which is a phone number the person who call is name Bethany Jenkins... I am very upset that these people are contacting my loved ones and scaring them its such a horrible thing that its a scam that they go to these links to cause worry... they knew my name my wjole name relatives and maybe my place of employment. .. I am very upset..
Called and said I am being charged with disability fraud. How is that possible when I am not on disability. Said I must pay $1,755.23 by the end of business day today to avoid being charged. It's a fraud because I can not find any info whatsoever on their business name "National filing"

Total scam. If you were going to be charged with disability fraud, you would have heard about it from state investigators who would have already interviewed you in person. Fraud is a crime and is handled by law enforcement. If you were suspected of such a crime you would most certainly NOT heard about it from some scammery-scummery debt collector cold-calling you and wanting immediate payment. This is little more than extortion.
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening arrest or criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a clear violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act)
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .
