I got a call from 3058487908 saying he is from bank of America and I was approved for 5,000 loan I applied for. the thing is I never applied for one. then he says he got my info from the FTC well that's bull because you don't apply for a loan through the FTC. at the end he was like oh so you don't need any money and I said no and he hung up.
I get calls from various states and various numbers they started leaving me messages about being approved for my loan application and that I can get 5000 if I call back to the financing dept they will deposit $ into my acct within the hour. I know this is a scam, but the funny thing is a few of the numbers that called to give me a loan are now saying that myself or someone took out a loan in my name and if Me or my attorney don't give them $500 they will file fraud charges to have me arrested tomorrow!! They wanted the money in a prepaid card hahaha Apparently they think I'm some sort of idiot that would fall for this! Now when they call I pretend to speak Spanish so needless to say they aren't calling me anymore!!
I have gotten no less than 30 calls today from this number and several others in other states. The most recent caller left a message, with a very heavy accent, that I was pre-approved for up to $5000 for the loan I applied for. I haven't applied for anything. EXTREMELY ANNOYING. Filing a complaint with the FTC immediately.
The FTC is indeed the place at which to file a complaint.
However, they might not be able to stop the calls ... particularly if the caller is not "domestic", or if the caller uses spoofed phone numbers.
Consider buying a call blocker from your favorite store if nothing else works.
