On computer - pop-up message with tech support number 305-902-4549. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER!!!!! Just reboot your computer. My elderly mom got a pop up message said Microsoft had been notified that my computer was infected with a Virus or Spyware. Computer might be sending Credit Card Info, facebook login, photos, etc. and to contact Microsoft support within 5 minutes otherwise access to the computer would be blocked. It also took her to a webpage that looked to be a Microsoft support page stating to call 305-902-4549 to fix the issue. But this is not a legitimate Microsoft webpage. I couldn't close the webpage and there was an audio warning saying that shutting down the computer would permanently block access. I went to Microsoft's legitimate website and got Microsoft's actual tech support number 1-800-642-7676. After navigating through it's telephone automated menu, I was on hold for less than 2 minutes and spoke to one of the tech support reps. He was very helpful and explained that the pop-up was just like any other ads that pop-up and is not actually harmful until you call the number they give you. They then try to get you to pay $$$ to unblock your access. If you don't call that number, then all you have to do is reboot your computer, you may have to do it twice.
Yes. This popped up on my laptop when I visited an asian drama website. Heard voice saw an FAKE official microsoft page and was told to call that 305 number. I unplugged the wifi. STUPID GREEDY SCAMMERS! BEWARE AND DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER!!
