Its illegal SCARE tactics - used when they HAVE NO LEGAL RIGHT TO COLLECT, are not licensed or cannot PROVE the debt is valid and owed. They won't VALIDATE the debt because they CAN'T.
Process servers DO NOT CALL FIRST - and its illegal to claim they are filing criminal charges or claim they are suing you when they have no intention and LEGALLY cannot sue you.
1. Check with your local courthouse and ask if there is a lawsuit filed against you. they cannot serve you if they have not filed with the courts first. Its IMPORTANT TO CHECK this - for your own peace of mnd and YOU KNOW they are LYING to you

The 2nd person I talked to also told me they were calling from the White Collar Crimes Investigation Unit... When I told my local sheriff's department that, the girl laughed, LOL. The first woman I talked to (Jennifer Page), gave me a completely different company name.. They can't even keep their stories straight.. She was extremely hateful and even hung up on me and I called back and that's when the dude told me they were the White Collar Crimes Investigation Unit.. WHATEVER!!!!!!!!!! They need to be stopped.. collection agency employing tactics in direct violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Get the name of the company. See if they will give you an address to "mail them a payment." DON'T REALLY SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!!!! Use the address to file suit. Violations of the FDCPA result in the collection agency having to pay YOU!
