Also, another collection agency out of Nevada has called work twice now trying to collect the same supposed debt. They didn't threaten me, but I recorded the conversation and the second time spoke to a supervisor and explained to him that they had probably bought fake debt and they should check it out. I dud get a response from Florida that advised me to seek legal. Punsel and to sue them.

This man, Thomas Curran, called me from this same number--said I defaulted on a payday loan and owed almost $3,000 and if I didn't pay it right away I would be arrested. He had called my parents' house and spoke to my mother BEFORE I spoke with him and told her the same thing--that something needed to be done within the hour (he told ME 10 minutes) or a warrant would be issued for my arrest; that I was supposed to be arrested yesterday morning, but he nicely did a background check and found out I had never been arrested and offered to cut the debt down to $1,758.00 (what a nice guy-yuck). I called my mother back because I was scared so badly and she offered to check into things. Meanwhile, while I was on the phone with her, this guy called back at least twice (the call waiting kept showing his number--but he never left a message). My mother had to calm me down because I was shaking and crying, thinking I was going to be arrested and there was nothing I could do. Thank
God my mother's calmer head prevailed, and after I calmed down I went to a website of a law firm who specializes in helping consumers with debt collection abuse. Now I know this guy is a scammer, BUT I WANT HIM ARRESTED!!!
I had the same EXACT situation happen today with Thomas Curren. After I figured out with my familys help it was a scam my brother showed me these blogs and I swear i had deja vu. He disrupted me in the middle of my work day and nearly gave me heart failure thinking that i owed that much money to something and that I would be arrested. I am a single mom working as much as i possibly can to care for my son and this scum completly disrupted that! I want him arrested this is craziness
He said the EXACT same thing to me. Unfortunately, even though I knew better, he managed to get my debit card number. He called a week after we buried my step father, so I was not thinking straight. He took $1000 out of my account. My bank has given it back, but I have been searching non stop and filing complaints ever since. It is actually Atlas Mediation. They are liscensed as a collection agency in Florida. I have filed complaints with the Florida AG, Arkansas AG, the Florida Bar Association, the FTC and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. They already have several complaints against them and one open criminal case. I called someone in an office in the same building they are in and they told me that they all come to work together in a van everyday. It's so shady! I just really want them to be caught. I do not want this to happen to anyone else!
