They call saying they are coming to serve papers to my home/work regarding a claim that was filed with their office. Funny thing is what they are calling about has been paid, years ago. I send them the documents showing paid, they clear it and randomly call back again 4-5 months later.
Called, my phone blocked it automatically I called back and they answered said that they wanted to collect on a pay day loan I said I did not have one he gave me a social number and it was not any were near mine i then told him pay day loans were illegal in the state of NC he said he would remove my number we will see if that happens

No one gets a heads up they'll be served - the process server is ONLY paid to serve those papers to you and they certainly don't call you ahead of time so you can have a chance to hide or otherwise be unavailable. BTW, you do not need to send any proof you've paid - per federal law, the debt collector MUST mail you proof that you owe them money.
Yeah, these guys keep calling for my dead grandfather claiming they're going to serve him at his home or place of work. If you wait till after the robocall, you occasionally get connected with a real human being. When I tried talking to him it was pretty obvious this was just a scam, so I called him out as a scammer. His response? "Well the scamming business is a'boomin!"
Seriously, talk about totally unapologetic pathetic losers. I figured they might have wised up after that, but they still call every day like idiots. Just put them on call block and keep an ear out for the key phrases that indicate this kind of scam... they give you a case number and a phone number to call. It's scary, and it sounds official, but it's just a trap to get you calling them. Ignore it.
