Caller saying they were from (such-and-such) power, following up on alternatives to our local power company. When I asked if this was a solicitation call, he said he was just checking the information. I pressed this to say they were seeking my business with them ... and then said we are on the no-call list. Caller said he has no way of knowing that. I said they're supposed to check before they call; then asked for a supervisor. He was polite, but said there could be two problems with the no-call list: either my entry had expired, or there were internal problems at their end that didn't catch this. I agree with the latter, but questioned the former point, considering I have repeatedly verified that our number is on the no-call list. He said the five years since the no-call registry entered into force expired last December ... but he offered to put our number on their internal no-call list.
On hanging up, I checked this. The federal no-call list *does not* expire.
ditto. caller posing herself calling from PSE&G and I should switch to her power company. I said I'm happy with current supplier and she is responded "no. you are not! I need to switch and save money!". I mentioned my number is on do not call registry and she doesn't care.
This number calls repeatedly but I don't answer. I finally did today. They asked for me by my former married name and I said, "She's dead." Then they asked for my former husband. I told them, "He SHOULD be dead" and laughed. They kind of sputtered and hung up. Hope I don't hear from them again.
I finally answered the phone # yesterday. The OLD Man said he's from PSE&G and I'm due a refund. Quoted an address I lived 8 years ago and tried to confirm my cell #. Of course, he's calling my cell #! Then he proceeded to say that He will need my PSE&G account # to process the refund and he will wait for me to get my account #. I then said "NO" I don't know who you are! and Hung UP on him. Just Called PSE&G customer service to report and confirm this and they said they will never ask you for any information to process a refund. If you're due a refund, it will just show up on your bill. Scammers!
