I have been called several times at work and on my personal cell phone, When I questioned who I was speaking to and what the companies name was, I was cursed at and called [***] and other horrible names that I know a legitimate compnay would never say. I kept my cool and advised the heavily accented man that I did not want the company he was working for to contact my employer, he became even more irrate and saying things that I really couldnt understand anyway because of his accent. I hung up the phone and then the agent proceeded to call my cell phone 20 times in a matter of 30 min!!!! WOW!! Obviuosly this is not a reptuble company and I will pursue other avenues for compensation to the harrassment. Under no uncertain terms, this is harrassment and they, whoever it is, needs to be held accountable.
Bottom line, I am too blessed to be stressed. This is just another tactic that the devil will try to use to gain leverage against you, and I wont give him the satisfaction.
They call claiming they are "Alex Johnson" or "Sean Anderson" an "officer of the law" with some sort of indian accent and that there will be police officers coming to arrest me with all these bogus charges against me on a phony payday loan that I supposedly had... they even had names of friends that I have previously used as referrences on other things & my ssn. They've even called me back after I hang up calling me a "b*tch" and "stupid lady... that's all you are is a stupid worthless lady" and one even said "i will track you down and kick your a**" I called the FTC and our state's Attorney General and they both said it's a scam and the only thing I can do is change my number or hang up as soon as I realize it's them and not to give them money. They also gave me a list of information that would help determine the difference between a real debt collector and a scammer. A debt collector HAS to send you a written notification with in 5 business days of the first contact. Also, a debt collecting agency and officer CANNOT make ANY sort of threats against you whatsoever... not even to garnish wages. If they do so and it is reported, they can receive fines starting at $10,000. My husband is in the military so we can't just change our phone numbers, there are way too many people we would have to notify, so we contacted our cell phone providers and downloaded a phone number blocking program and add those numbers to the list as they call. They stop calling for a while but eventually find a number that isn't on the list.
Same scam that has been going around. Cyber Crime unit...gonna take you to jail...bla bla bla.....call them back and as soon as they answer, give them your best Budwiser "Waaazzzz aaauuuupppppp"
Yessss! I have gotten a call from this number twice!! They have very heavy accents that can barely be understood! I actually turned in a complaint to the FBI for this number and blocked them from my phone!
Scam. Heavy accent. Man claiming that I owe some check cashing place and that they placed a law suit against me, even though I know that I do not owe anyone a penny. They threatened to send a supeona, and try to scare me into sending a payment. Don't buy it.
heavily accented fool. said he was from some investigations department and needed my social security number. the whole spiel is on my voice mail because I hung up the first time and he call back and left a message.
