I received the same call at 11:00 am today. I received a voicemail message with the impending threat of an IRS lawsuit from Kelly Wilson, IRM #1250 unless I paid $6,700.50 today. If I couldn't pay the money today, I was to pay as much as I could and she would transfer me to a superior handling this lawsuit for payment arrangements. When I asked for her to transfer me, she hung up. It was the same scenario as Diane's, the lady was obviously Indian (dot not feather) and there was a substantial amount of noise in the background. I had to keep asking her to repeat herself and even asked if I could call back from a different line - to which she spoke louder. She apparently thought she had a fish on the line with me. We need to be sure our elders know of this scam and help them to know that the IRS DOESN'T CONTACT YOU VIA TELEPHONE - EVER!
Hey!! I got a call from that number today to!!! She said is from IRS, she told me the samething that told to you about your taxes, And that's right everything that you said! Obviously from India person and a lot of noise.
I got a call from that number today, she told me that I owe to IRS money and I need to pay now, I told her I need to speak with somebody in Spanish she told me nobody there speak Spanish...and I said always IRS office has people who speak spanish, she told me that I have to call her tomorrow morning to make a payment for my balance...and else she told me if I don't pay my case will go directly to a Washington Court
Same scenario and number as those posted before; except:
~I requested written confirmation
~Woman responded I was not home to receive certified mail and sign for it
~I stated there should be record through U.S. mail
~Woman became aggressive and demanding
~At this point, countered that pending receipt Iif legal docs, I will not divulge any personal information and would retain legal counsel at such time. She became belligerent.
~Requested transfer to Supervisor who could discuss legitimacy of claim
~Woman started screaming
~Scam
People....circulate this SCAM in social media. Spread the word.
