Scammers, they wanted to verify I was home because they wanted to serve me with legal paperwork. If they did hear from me then it would be assumed I got the message. Ok like that would fly in a court of law. Block number and ignore them.
You can collect $1500 per call in Florida for harrassment if you sue with an attorney, tell them that. I'm collecting data, Wow I'm already $3000 ahead, keep calling you stupid mofo's!
Same thing happened to me today that jdinfl posted. First call from 866-309-4248 caller Matthew with National Document Delivery Services saying there from a "complaint" filed and they would attempt contact 2X and that I needed to have ID, all left on a voicemail. Then shortly after that a call from 307-259-4203 saying they were "serving me with papers", again left on voicemail. Both of these are connected and both did the lame scare tactics. I reported the first one on the FTC consumer website which is CFPB online, since it is illegal for a debt collector to use these tactics of threaten to sue or serve lawsuit papers and then not actually serve papers. I included the audio file of the voicemail left to make the filed complaint valid. Since most states have a stature of limitations for how long a debt collector can bring a law suit against someone. I will be doing the same thing with the 307-259-4203 Brian caller voicemail. Most of these companies that use these tactics are what is called "zombie debt collectors" that purchase old debts that are 7 years or older. They know they can't legally bring suit and they are hoping that the general public doesn't know these state laws so they can collect whatever a scared person will give in the heat of the moment.
