First called my number in Oct. 2015. I did not answer and they left no message, so I blocked them. Just checked my blocker records and found that they have tried to call 26 more times in about 3 1/2 months. CID says FOUND AMER VETS. If they were truly a veteran's assistance org. I doubt they would have tried to call that many times while being blocked each time.
These people must be the kind of scum would attempt to profit by misrepresenting themselves as military vetern advocates. Lowest of the low.
Call came in on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 7:23 PM MDT. Was familiar area code, so I answered, although no name was shown in caller ID. It took a few seconds for caller to respond to my "Hello." He sounded somewhat confused, but quickly regained his composure, called me by name, and said his name was Steve and asked me if I was ready to be called up for active military duty. (The military would have to be totally desperate to want someone my age!) Then he quickly said he was calling from a veterans' foundation, so I'm guessing it was someone wanting money from me. I said I didn't want anymore calls from him and hung up.
Charities, along with some Survey's and Political calls, are exempt from the DNC, however, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC when asked, you can also check your states laws in regards. Some states have different laws in regards to the calls, which can differ from the federal but as far as I know, Oregon is the only one that does not allow Charity calls.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or less. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

These guys are rude. They keep calling and asking for my husband, when I ask to take a message they hang up. I have 2 boys in the military and hate that these rude people want to be associated with our good guys in the service. Just blocked them so they won't be able to bother us any more.
