If they are trying to renew a sub, they aren't doing a good job. They've called twice now, and both times I've answered cause it's my work phone, and both times they sat in silence and then hung up. Don't know what we're subscribed to, but it's hard to even find out if they don't talk, and I do have the purchasing authority to renew if we need it.
They are a contracted company calling to renew subscriptions to an assortment of trade publications. They want to confirm the name/address/position of the subscriber and that they are involved in purchasing decisions for the company. Their calls are annoying and they will keep calling back daily for months on end.
However, if you or someone in your household is a subscriber of one of their trade publications, then you have a pre-existing relationship with them and what they are doing is technically not considered telemarketing.

Have called multiple times. I tell them each time the person they are looking for no longer works here and this is the wrong number. Still call back once a month, at least. Refuse to give me the name of the company they are calling from or what they are calling about.
