Claimed to be from IRS, said was filing a claim, but did not name any individual. Called the number and just rang and rang, not even an answering machine. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same as above, caller claimed she was providing final notice that IRS intends to file law suit. Of course, I knew better -- this scam has been reported in the media recently. I also noticed call was placed from a "wireless" caller, the first clue to this being a scam. I assume the number will be out of service soon -- it's probably a throw away cell phone and new phones will be used until their numbers are reported. Sadly, this call was placed to my elderly mother's landline and I understand that some elderly people will be confused and frightened by the stern tone the scammers use in their fake scam calls. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.
