Got a call from this number. Said they were with the Breast Cancer Society. Asked me what credit card I would like to place my pledge on. Told them to mail me a pledge form. I do not donate with a credit card over the phone. Then they asked me if I wanted to use any of my visa gift cards or paypal. Told them to mail me the form. They were polite the whole time, but I was not feeling comfortable about the whole thing. IF I get a pledge form, I will definitely research it first!
Got calls continually from 307-459-4185 and 307-459-2399. Finally answered one day, and nice-sounding woman asked for my husband. I was short with her upon answering the phone, and upon answering her question/request to speak to my husband (she called him by name!), and I said, "No" to her asking if my husband were available. She then said, nicely, "Well, ok, there's no message, I'll try back another time." Now, after reading and researching who these potential jerks are, I am going to ignore the calls (thankfully have caller ID) and monitor the crap out it. How did they get my husband's name. FYI: Caller ID said "Cheyenne, WY."
Call came in at 8:21 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2014.
This has to be one of the strangest fundraising calls I've ever received. First of all, it came in on my cell phone, and how they got that number I'll never know. Although the caller's name was not shown, I answered because I have been in the midst of solving a problem and thought maybe the call was related to that.
After a few moments of dead silence after I said, "Hello," the woman caller asked for me by name. I said she had the right person. She retorted, "You are one tough cookie to get ahold of!"
Then she said she was calling regarding fundraising for breast cancer. I interrupted her by saying that I'd asked to be removed from their calling list. She interrupted me by saying that she'd put my number on their "Do Not Call" list.
At that point, I just hung up. Totally weird.
