Prerecorded message claiming that I needed to call them for information about lowering my credit card interest rates. They didn't identify themselves and the number doesn't belong to any bank or business that I do business with.
This is probably an identity theft SCAM. Do not give them any of your information. File complaints against them on the FTC website for telephone scams and for violating the Do Not Call Registry if your number is registered.
They identified the company as Member Services, which sounds a whole lot like a branch at my bank, so I stayed on the line to figure out what this was about. The rep congratulated me on making my credit card payments on time for the past 6 months (yay me), then proceeded to offer me a lower rate than my current one.
What tipped me off is when she asked how big a balance I carry month to month. Thing is, I don't, nor do I pay interest. But my bank knows that, and I informed her of this. She told me to have a blessed day and hung up before I could ask to be removed from the call list.
